The 1999 1st XI season stats are now online. It was a good year for the 1st XI with a lot of positive results.

Charlie Sampson & Neill Brown dominated the batting with Rob Dawkins destroying teams with the ball. 1999 also saw the arrival of Matt Hurst

The March draw for the 100 Club took place on Monday 1st March at top secret 100 club headquarters. The first number out of the bag was number 71 resulting in a £40 win for Russell Sullivan. The 2nd number out of the magic bag of destiny was 25 which means Barbara Bills wins the 2nd prize of £10.

The next draw of the 100 club will take place in April and will be the 1st draw of the next 12 month period so get those signing on fees in promptly to ensure you're in the draw.

The club are hosting a race night on Saturday March 13th at the Bulls Head Cosby. The first race starts at 8pm with gambling opportunities available on all races. £10 will sponsor you a dog in one of the races and there will be hot food on the night.

Due to the Sports Hall at Countesthorpe College being needed for exams, Senior and junior nets will not be taking place on Monday 1st March.

However, for those that are able to make it and for this week only, Senior nets will be on Thursday 4th March from 6pm - 7:30pm. Accordingly, there will be no junior nets on this date.

The remaining senior net sessions are as follows:

Monday 8th March - (7pm - 8pm)
Monday 15th March - (7pm - 8pm)
Monday 22nd March - (7pm - 8pm)

After the success of last years tour Cosby CC are pleased to announce we are hitting the road again this year as we take in the delights of Norfolk.

The provisional dates for the tour are Wednesday 1st September 2010 to Saturday 4th September 2010 (returning early morning as we will have league games) staying in Cromer, Norfolk. The predicted cost is £150, this includes 3 nights bed and breakfast, match fees, petrol and tour shirt.

We currently have 2 fixtures lined up against Bradfield on the Wednesday and Cromer on the Friday. This gives us the Thursday off to enjoy the attractions of Norfolk (Inbreeding, Mountain Climbing, Drinking etc).

If you are interested in attending please get in touch with Cooky or Billso who will add you to the touring party. A deposit of £75 must be paid by 29th May 2010, with the balance paid in full by August 1st 2010. All money to be paid to Billso who will pay it into the Tour account. You can pay in instalments or in 1 go if you wish. All cheques are to be made payable to Cosby Tour Association.

The merry mid-weekers fixtures for the 2010 season are now available on the fixtures page. We open the season in the newly established Mid-Week League Cup at home against local rivals Whetstone on May 4th.

The league campaign starts a week later away at Enderby and finishes on 27th July away at Fleckney.

As anyone who attended the clubs AGM in December will know (or those who have just read the minutes on the web site) it was decided that the club would be introducing an annual subscription for all senior players. It was also decided that it would be left to the general comittee to decide the level of the fee and what players would get for the subscription. It has therefore been decided that the annual subscription will be £25 for which players will receive a place in the 100 club (where you get a chance to win £40 each month). This was deemed the fairest way to do it as not only will it provide the club with much needed funds but will also increase the player participation in the 100 club (which at the moment is quite frankly poor) and give you all the chance to potentially win your money back.

Further details regarding payment of the subscription will be made available in the near future, but for those of you that are keen to get it paid make all cheques payable to Cosby Cricket Club.

The first number pulled out of the magic bag was number 40 meaning a £40 jackpot win for Linda Bills. The 2nd number out was number 89 meaning the 2nd prize of £10 will be going to John Harrop.
