2021 Season

24 Feb 2021

        Following on from the governments announcement on Monday about the 'road map' out of lockdown we are delighted to be able to make a few announcements of our own regarding the 2021 season. Firstly the senior league fixtures have been announced. Both teams will begin their campaigns on Saturday 24th April with the First Team starting at home against Great Glen whilst the 2nd XI will open the season with an away fixture against Fleckney Village. The season is scheduled to conclude on Saturday 18th September with the reverse of these fixtures. The league do have in place contingency plans should the season be disrupted in any way but we wont bore you with those at this stage. Following the announcement on Monday it would seem highly likely there will still be restrictions on using the changing rooms from the start of the season as well as other Covid regulations we will still have to follow. Until this gets clarified for certain it would appear that some of these restrictions will remain in place until June 21st at the earliest. Announcements about Midweek, Sunday and Junior fixtures are expected over the next couple of months and we will be in touch as and when we know how things stand.

With the fixtures having been announced the next step is for players and members to make themselves available. We will once again be running selection via the Teamo App and we would encourage all players and members to set their availability for fixtures as early as possible. For any players, members, junior players (and their parents) who are yet to register on Teamo we strongly encourage you to do so. All information is secure and is the quickest and easiest way to find out if you are playing or not. To register please click go to the following link;

For any issues regarding Teamo please get in contact with club captain Michael Whitehead.

With organised team sport being allowed to return after March 29th we will be able to commence outdoors pre-season training for both juniors and seniors after this date should the weather be amenable. At the minute we do not know if there will be any limits on the number of people allowed to train at any time (like last year) or not. We will let you know what age groups and teams are training on what days of the week in due course so please keep your eyes peeled to emails, the facebook page, Twitter, Teamo for any future updates.

We will be hosting a pre-season virtual Race Night on Zoom on Friday 26th March, all players, members, junior players as well as their friends and family are welcome to attend and hopefully we will have more details about this in the coming weeks.

Finally we would just like to say we hope that all our members and their families and friends are remaining healthy and happy in these continuing strange times. We are not quite at the end of the road just yet but at least now it would appear that we are heading in the right direction. One last big effort and life will hopefully be going back to some kind of normality in the very near future. In the meantime if you do have anything you wish to discuss (cricket related or not) please get in touch with any member of the committee, we are always happy to help whenever and wherever we can.
