Match report This in-form under 13's side hoped to carry on their good form despite a blip against Twycross the week before. The side that turned up however... were City cricket academy, boasting many talented young cricketers. Realising the scale of the task upon us, we set out with a enthusiastic mentality after George won the toss and put CCA into bat...

Luke and Slade opened the bowling with some steady and straight bowling at the 3 pegs , forcing the two CCA openers a few problems. Our bowlers did well to force the openers into just 4 and over for the first 13 overs and the batsmen at the crease scoring their first boundary after 10 overs. The wicket came when Callum managed to get the opener to loft the ball to the man at mid-on, Slade watching the ball well and taking the opportunity. After a good knock by the other opener, he retired and two new batsmen came into the crease. Tom and Joe Schofield kept on the pressure in the middle overs. Tom , making his 2nd appearance in a Cosby shirt, came on with some good balls delivered and a performance that he can be positive about. Rory also too, bowled well. After CCA were kept down to just 99, it was all set, 5 an over was needed to claim an upset.

After a slow start, troubles came after 2 quick wickets of Rory (0) and Slade (1) and in-stepped Sam Woodhouse ,a young cricketer with a lot of potential, with George solid at the crease and knocking runs off, it came a suprise when he was bowled for 19. All seemed doom with 35 needed off 5 overs with 2 young and not used to the pressure. Daniel Edwards however, decided he was not going to mess around about getting the runs required. He smashed his way to a personal best of 24 not out with 4 boundaries, 4 singles and 2 2's. And with Sam supporting with 18 not out. The last over was a thriller with 5 needed of it. And with sam getting the winning runs off a boundary, the 2 heroes were greeted by ecstatic team mates to complete an upset.
