Cosby CC - Corona Virus Update

04 May 2020

First of all we would like to take this opportunity to say we hope all our players, members, supporters as well as their friends and families are coping well and remaining healthy during this ongoing difficult time.

Secondly we would like to take this opportunity to inform all our players, members and supporters of a decision made by the committee in light of the Corona Virus crisis. It has been decided that the annual subscription fee that we normally charge both junior and senior members has been waved for 2020. At the moment all recreational Cricket has been stopped nationwide as per the ECB and there are no signs of this changing any time soon. In the increasingly unlikely event of us being able to play any cricket this season we will just charge match fees.

Incase anyone has already paid their annual subs for 2020 the committee would encourage you to contact the club treasurer Chris Pople (chris_pople@sky.com) to discuss refunds, the possibility of rolling over the payment for 2021 or any other options.

We would also like to state that whilst we are unable to play any cricket we will not be asking our members for any money. There have been reports of scams within Leicestershire of people being contacted by people claiming to be officials from sports clubs demanding money for membership fees etc. Just to reiterate we will not be contacting you for any money for membership fees or similar whilst we are not playing cricket. If anyone does get in touch asking for money claiming to be a member of the committee please do not pay anything and report it straight away.

If you have any queries regarding the cricket club at this time please contact a member of the committee and they will be happy to answer your questions. We will continue to update you when anything changes so please keep following our social media channels (Twitter, Facebook), via email as well as on www.cosbycc.hitscricket.com

In the meantime we hope you all remain safe and healthy and encourage you to look out for one another at all times.
