Cosby Cricket Club Lost 4 Wickets

Match report The mid-week team fell to their first defeat of the season at the hands of local rivals Whetstone thanks to a calamitous batting display. The scene was set when Podge got bowled first ball of the match. Other batsmen gave their wickets away as Waggy, Scouse and Charlie all got out cheaply. The situation was not aided by run outs of both Peppers and Cooky. Only Alex White of the batsmen got into double figures and had it not been for the 21 extras bowled we wouldn't have even reached our modest total of 68 all out.

The bowling display was actually quite good despite a disastrous start when Cooky went for 24 off an over. The other bowlers nearly managed to claw it back with Whitey (2 for 4), Steve Pep (2 for 15) and Billso (2 for 11) in the wickets. However the batting display and Cooky getting hit out the ground meant we were just short of victory as Whetstone won with 3 balls to spare.
